PRODUCTS
The VDH 015 concrete sleepers are designed according to an original, efficient and reliable technology. Everything has been thought to produce high quality sleepers requiring minimum labour and a strong local added value. Finally, we ensure a simple, highly relable and low cost product (production, handling and laying).
The technology used in mono-block sleepers and bearers for switches and crossings has already shown its efficiency for many years. The positif pre-stress load to the entire sleeper through 2 stell washers.
In collaboration with D2S, ITB-TRADETECH has developped an efficient vibration isolation system (TDT-D2S) designed for non ballasted tracks. The TDT-D2S system has already shown its capacity throughout the Brussels Underground and on the Paris Underground.
Mono-block sleepers
The technology used in mono-block sleepers and bearers for switches and crossings has already shown its efficiency for many years. The positive pre-stress anchorage process allows transferring the whole pre-stress load to the entire sleeper through 2 steel washers.
  • Up to 14 cm stiffness under rail

  • Suit a counter-rail and a third security rail
  • Can be used on ballasted or non ballasted track
  • Suitable for metro and tramway tracks
  • A vibration isolation system could be used
  • Suitable for metric and standard tracks
  • Common length matching with all types of railtrack
  • "Short head" bearers design
  • Plugs positionning precision
  • Special channels for plugs
  • Geometrical precision of bearers
  • Identification and marking of each bearer

Twin-block sleepers
The VDH concrete sleepers are designed according to an original, efficient and reliable technology.
Everything has been thought to produce high quality sleepers requiring minimum labour and a strong local added value.
Finally, we ensure a simple, highly reliable and low cost product (production, handling and laying).

Implementation of 3 basis requirements :
  • FACILITY AND CONVENIENCE
  • Setting of an homogenous sleeper, fully equipped and ready to use
  • High production easiness, thanks to our moulding machine, that can be moved on rails or wheels
  • Easy setting up of rail fastening system
  • Low weight and small dimensions for easier handling and transportation
  • Suit all rail fastening systems (Pandrol, Nabla, Vossloh...) and all types of tracks (metric, standard, large) as well as network (train, tramway, subway)
  • LOW COST
  • Our system enables us to use basic and low cost raw material providing the highest quality of mechanical resistance to concrete
  • Low investment of machinery equipment (turn key production units)
  • PERFORMANCE AND QUALITY
  • High mechanical resistance of concrete, vibrated and compacted simultaneously at the end of pouring cycle
  • High flexibility of the sleeper thanks to the steel tie-bar
  • The undesired effect of negative bending movement altering te concrete in the central part of a mono-block sleeper, are  avoided
  • High precision of track gauges (+/- 1mm)
  • Use of 4 lateral block faces in touch with ballast (high lateral stability)
  • Shoulders or inserts very firmly anchored (double legs)
  • Minimum sleepers lifetime : 35 years

Tramways and metro systems
In collaboration with D2S, ITB-TRADETECH has developed and efficient vibration isolation system (TDT-D2S) designed for non ballasted tracks.
The TDT-D2S system has already shown its capacity throughout the Brussels Underground and on the Paris Underground.
  • Friction free vertical displacements
  • A sealing strip in the boot recess ensures a waterproof seal. This can be released for maintenance purposes.
  • The thicknes and stiffness of the pad are adjustable in accordance with the required shock absorbability and noice reduction.
  • Setting up a fully equipped sleeper system, in one phase, free of posterior adjustment in the laying track operation.
  • 10dB gain in vibration over the classic bloc  tie system (references SNCB and STIB-Bruxelles, RATP-Paris)
  • Slit that runs the entire circumference of boot enabling the insertion of an elastic rope providing a watertight seal
  • All the sleepers designed following the system are similar, with or without the anti-vibration system (sections of subway tracks with ballast)
  • The system allows to avoid the expensive floating slabs construction.
